Your favorite local dancers and choreographers are back for this yearly performance at the Arts Center!
This FREE, 45-minute concert of inspired and insightful modern dance will take place twice during March Troy Night Out, Friday 3/31, at 6:00 and 7:30 pm in the black box theater of the Arts Center of the Capital Region.
Eight local choreographers and dancers bring you an experimental evening of the newest modern dance in Troy. Participating this year are Louisa Barta, Maggie Ciambrone, Marie Klaiber, Madeline Morser, André Robles, Sara Senecal, Laura Teeter, and Jennifer Yackel.
With so many distinct choreographic visions, you’re sure to see something you’ll want to talk about over drinks after the show!

Well-known for his dozen plus years as a dancer with Mark Morris Dance Group, Artistic Director John Heginbotham has quickly established his own company as one of the most adventurous and exciting on the American contemporary dance scene. Acclaimed for its vibrant athleticism, humor and theatricality as well as its commitment to collaboration, the company is currently celebrating its fifth anniversary season.
This performance is part of the New York State Presenters Network Presenter-Artist Partnership Project made possible through a regrant from the New York State Council on the Arts, a state agency with the support of Governor Andrew Cuomo and the New York State Legislature. Support provided by the Hampton Inn.
The SOA would like to open their doors and support the local dance community by providing an informal, open space for local choreographers to converge for an exchange and sharing of ideas.
This will be an opportunity for choreographers to showcase their current contemporary works and receive feedback from an audience of other dancers, choreographers, and dance enthusiasts. Your piece can be a solo or group piece, a finished piece or a work-in-progress at a max of 7 minutes.
