Dancing Through Time is a program of the Dance Alliance designed for seniors (over 50); no previous dance experience is required. A sampler of dance styles and techniques, each of the 8 session classes is taught by a different instructor, providing participants with a rich mix of experiences. Please complete the application form on this page and send it in with your check or bring it to the first class. Classes are held on Thursday afternoons from 1:00-3:00 in the Swyer Studios at the back of the National Museum of Dance on Broadway, Saratoga Springs, New York. Wear comfortable clothing and socks or soft shoes.

April 8
Mary DiSanto-Rose, Chair of Skidmore College’s Dance Department, involves us in her current sabbatical work in recreating the choreography of dances of the founding mother of Modern Dance, Isadora Duncan.
April 15
Maude Baum, Artistic Director of her own dance company at eba Dance Theater, leads a class in Reminiscence- A Dance Experience. Improve your balance, get a good workout and express yourself! We will swing, sway, stretch, breathe, and create dances based on personal experiences, myths, life passages and more.
April 22
Richele Corbo introduces us to Nia, a dance movement integrating body, mind and spirit. Based on martial arts, Nia develops strength, grace, flexibility, and balance. It is a playful and expressive way to experience the pleasure of being in your body. Bring a mat or towel and plan to dance barefoot.
April 29
Gail Tassarotti has been teaching adult ballet in the Capital District for over 25 years. Join this ballet class to feel like an elegant ballet dancer. Simple barre work and center movement will be covered.
May 6
Sandra Balint, an experienced student and practitioner of martial arts, brings us Romancing the Fan with Mu Lan Fan Dancing, a nationally treasured dance-like discipline performed by Chinese women to maintain their health and to express femininity. Drawing inspiration from portrait photographs by Lady Ostapeck, Sandra will bring her special collection of fans for us to use in creating our own small group dances.
May 13
Tina Baird, owner of The Rhythm Room Tap Dance Space lead the class in Jazz Dance To Jazz Standards ~ This class will focus on American Vernacular dance and feature steps from the 1920's and 1930's. Class will include a warm-up, movement across the floor, and a jazz combination.
May 20
Gina Mammone, artistic director at Hubbard Hall in Cambridge, brings a serving of Chutney, a music/movement from the Indian diaspora, with particular focus on the Caribbean. Chutney is a spicy blend of elements of Hindustani devotional music, bollywood/pop, and soca.
May 27
Laurie Zabele Cawley wraps up DTT24 with Zumba, a sassy and expressive way to move out bodies. Adaptable to all levels of fitness, Zumba blends Latin rhythms with aerobics for an enjoyable and vigorous workout.
During the session, class participants will have an opportunity to buy tickets at a group rate for a dance performance at an area theater. Carpooling will be arranged.
